With so many happy memories of his enduring love with our founder, Mama Sue, Papa Dave took flowers to her memorial on Wednesday – her birthday.
Papa gave up the possibility of a comfortable retirement in the UK to make Sue’s dream of opening her Happy House children’s home in Kenya, a reality. He would have followed her to the end of the earth if she wished it.
When he said: “If Sue is happy, I’m happy” he truly meant it.
How many memories he must hold in his heart of their time together which ended so suddenly and so tragically with her death three years ago.
flowers wilt in minutes in the heat of Watamu, but resourceful Papa had managed to find some artificial ones which include yellow roses, her favourite.
With him with at the memorial in our school grounds were a band of little ones who never met our special Mama but who know how important she was, and always will be. She will always be remembered and always be loved.
