Artist in the making?

Thirteen years ago when the Happy House was about to open, our founder Mama Sue was getting ready to unpack all the wonderful items, donated in the UK, and shipped by container to Kenya. Among them were lots of paints, crayons and paper. When she had been out giving talks trying to raise funds, she would often tell her audiences: “How can you know whether a child is a talented artist if they never have the opportunity to pick up a paintbrush?” She wanted the young people entrusted to our Happy Hous care to have the opportunity to explore and discover their talents. And thus it has been ever since with art materials, musical instrument etc all available. Jessica loves art and here she is showing us one of her pieces of work and how lovely it is.
