First funds towards a new roof

#VALUE!

Our Happy House Safe and Sound Appeal is off to a wonderful start. ,Our friends, old and new, rallied to our call to help us raise the £8,600 we need to urgently replace the roof on our children’s home. ,We had already earmarked the £900 raised from the sale of a signed Pele football shirt, donated bt Terry Stock, to the fund and donations some other donations had been received. ,Yesterday, we received another personal donation of £200, plus £400 from donations made by members of Wyre u3a group in Lancashire after a talk given by our voluntary coordinator Elizabeth Gomm. ,Elizabeth, Auntie Libz to our family, said: It was the first talk I’d given since before the pandemic and  I was feeling nervous, but there was really no need. I had a wonderful audience of very generous people. ,Some of them could remember the days when Sue was embarking on her fundraising to build the Happy House and wer full of admiration for what she and her charity have achieved. ,To raise £400 in ine afternoon was just brilliant. ,Our thanks to everyone who has helped so far. ,Our appeal total currently stands at £1800 so we still have a long way to go. ,You can help, please, iby arranging a fundraiser in your area. If you  need us to help you with publicity etc, please email: elizabethgomm@childrenofwatamu.net ,Or you can make a donation you can do  via JustGiving https://www.justgiving.com/childrenofwatamu/Donate or Paypal https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/ChildrenofWatamu ,It would be wonderful if you could let us know if you do make a donation to our Safe and Sound Appeal by sending Elizabeth the confirmation you receive so that we can thank you personally. ,We know that you will help if you can and are forever grateful. ,Every penny is much needed and greatly appreciated,
