Making memories

With few, if any, relatives our children at Happy House really value those in their sponsor families. ,Their sponsors, through their emails, letters, photographs and card, open new windows on the world. Our children treasure the ites they receive and keep them safe in their memory boxes. ,Mama Sue came up with the idea of each child having their own memory box which would be something that was all their own, and only shared with with their consent. ,Her idea was inspired by Papa Dave, who came from a very large family who had a lot of happiness but little in the way of material things. Everything was shared. ,When he and Mama married all Papa wanted was a drawer of his own. Mama said: It was his, and his alone, even if there was only a comb and piece of string in it nobody, but nobody, except him would open it. ,She felt that living in such a big family was the same for our children, they have their own clothes and lockers, but things were inevitably shared with their brothers or sisters. ,The memory boxes would be something that could be entirely their own. ,At the weekend some of the children enjoyed looking back at the memories in their boxes.
