Happy House children’s home will be celebrating it’s 15th birthday in March.
In that time, scores of children have had their lives transformed by being a part of our family – through living in our children’s home, or by being supported in education.
For some we have been a shelter in a storm – a time of extreme hardship or tragedy within a family.
Once the storm abated they have returned to their family, some with our continued support.
For others we are a permanent home.
We have our Haywards, who take their surname from our founders , Sue and Dave. They children are who were foundlings and we have orphans too. For these children we are the only family they know. We are their everything.
Vice-chair of our trustees, Phil Marshall, explains that our children’s home, run by our charity Children of Watamu, would be nothing without the support we receive from those people around the world who sponsor one of our children or who make donations to help.
We receive no support from the Kenya Government, although our children come to us through their children’s services department and trying to get grants from charitable trusts is hugely competitive and difficult.
And so we depend on you.
We need more sponsors for our children, the optimum amount is £20 a month, some people pay more but if £20 is too much for you maybe you could help with a smaller amount.
If you would like to know how to sponsor a Happy House child plese visit our website : https://www.childrenofwatamu.org/sponsor-a-child/ If you would like to make a donation you can do so through PayPal or JustGiving by following this link : https://www.childrenofwatamu.org/donate/
You could also help by organising a fundraising event or just by telling your friends and colleagues about the work we do.
Thank you in advance for your support, your kindness and your love.
Together we do change lives
