Back home

It has always been vitally imporant to Happy House to maintain strong links with relatives of the children in our care, wherever it is safe and possible. This school holidays some of our children have been on home visits to relatives who, although unable to care for them on a full-time basis, can manage to provide a holiday for their young family members. Our late Mama Sue was a leader in ensuring family links were maintained, believing that should family circumstances change significantly enough for a child to return home to relatives on a full-time basis, then that should happen. We have, over the years, been successful in repatriating more than 50 young people into their own families and communities. Here Husna talks about her home visit, which she has very much enjoyed.
