Corn grows up and up

In the weeks leading up the rains, every spare patch of ground in our region of Kenya is adopted by someone and planted with maize. Maize is the staple crop, but at Happy House we serve it as sweetcorn which the children absolutely love. Here our gardener, Uncle Telvin, is in the garden amongst the maize which is growing by the day. In fact, like the song goes, “It’s almost as high as an elepant’s eye!” We should be in for a bumper crop.
