Happy House kid John is doing well on his plumbing course at Gede College. He’s a bright boy but, having experienced a troubled childhood, came into education for the first time as a teenager. Now over 19, he can no longer live at Happy House but lives in an outdoor room at our administrator’s home. This is not an ideal arrangement which is why we are trying hard to raise enough money to build a halfway house to provide temporary accommodation for those young people who must, by law, leave our care but do not have means or family to allow them to live independently. He has meals at Happy House and assists staff where he can, picking up more skills in the process. John’s college course is being financed by one of very kind supporters.
