Halfway House growing by the day

The two bedroom bungalow which forms the first phase of our Happy House Halfway House is moving forward every day. And that’s a step nearer to getting two young people intp semi-independent living accommodation whilst they finish their vocational traning or education.Having spent much of their lives in care of Happy House, it’s difficult when a young person, who must, by law, leave the care of a children’s home at 18, has no relatives in a position to help or any means of support. This bungalow will ensure that the two who need it now will have their own rooms plus living and kitchen space to share. The bungalow, which will be called Hatch House in memory of our friend Betty Hatch, who made it possible, and her son Paul, who was ne of our trustees.  We miss them both, but are determined their legacy will live on.Evans, our trainee manager, presents this video and we apologise that some of the background is unclear at the start.
