Halfway House on its way up

The first phase of our Happy House Halfway House is coming along well. It is a bungalow with two en suite bathrooms plus a living area and kitchen space as our contratctor, Simon, explains. This will provide living accommodation for two young people who, by law, have had to leave the full time care of our children’s home whenthe reached 18. Having this accommodation is vital because we already have John who is living in temporary accommodation in the grounds of our administrator’s house, which she really needs back for her own family use. But John had no relatives who could give him a home and long term renting was not an option. One of our kind friends is sponsoring him through a plumbing  course at college and once he is able to stand on his own feet he will be able to find his own place. We eventually hope to add enough accommodation to allow for six to eight self-contained units, providing supported living, but have started with two because that is all the money we have raised so far in these difficult timesThey will all be on a walled plot, which we bought, close to Happy House.
