Our family at the Happy House had a wonderful morning of yoga with Hayley Holuj and Lewis Hall who had traveled from Dubai to meet them. Hayley, from Manchrester, and Lewis, from Blackpool, are founders fof My Little Zen, a non-for-profit yoga initiative with a vision to inspire global change through movement and music, contributing towards the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. They bring people together for a unique experience that combines yoga and live music. As they flow to the rhythm of the beat, they share energies to create a fusion of movement, breath, senses, mindfulness and overall alignment – making their yogis feel alive in the moment. The primary focus of My Little Zen is to give the gift of yoga to help others, and by doing so creating a global community that flows for a cause. Their ethos combines elements of ‘Karma Yoga’ – a selfless action for the benefit of others; and ‘The Law of Creation’ – you need to take action to create something for yourself and others, rather than wait for it to happen. Any donations or profits from their events is used to connect under developed communities through technology and humanity. Yoga and mindfulness have been shown to devlop mental and physical strength because they allow muscles to work in different ways. It relieves strength and anxiety giving a sense of accomplishment and stronger mindset. Hayley and Lewis, on a My Little Zen mission to Kenya and Tanzania, delivered a yoga session to our family as an introduction to their progamme. This will continue. They left us with a tablet and a router so that we can connect with them, as a family, for regular yoga sessions. We, and they, hope, in the future, to develop and build on the friendship we have forged. Our deepest thanks to Hayley and Lewis, who came from Dubai where they are based, especially to see us.
