The inner courtyard is a stunning feature at the Happy House, just as Mama Sue envisioned all those years ago when she designed the children’s home of her dreams.She wanted it to be a secure space (it’s gated at each end) which would bring open space in the centre of the building. The bedrooms and bathrooms open on to a covered walkway leading on to the space. It’s essential that the plants and shrubs are well cared for and that is where Uncle Tevin, a member of our gardening team, comes in. Here he is cutting back the shrubs and collecting some cuttings.
