Four days of mourning was declared in Kenya on the death of HM Queen Elizabeth ii. It was there in 1952, that the then Princess Elizabeth , who was on a royal tour with Prince Philip, received news of her father’s death. They were staying at Treetops Lodge which has since been remembered the place that she “went to sleep a princess and awoke a queen”. Our family at Happy House wanted to pay its respects as Mwende tells us.
