Bougainvillea is the perfect plant to grow around the perimeter fence at Happy House. Not only is it very pretty, but it is also extremely spikey and a good form of security – especially when coupled with an electric fence. But when the rains come, as they have, it can soon get out of hand. Uncle Alfred, a member of our staff, has been working on cutting it back – shaping it to keep it looking neat. Uncle Alfred, like all those people who work for us are grateful to have good jobs in an area where work is hard to come by. Mama Sue, our late founder, and Papa Dave have encouraged their valued team to work hard and develop their skills safe in the knowledge that good work is rewarded with job security. And that is precious indeed.
